Class 3 agents-in-training can now register to write the 2023 Trademark Agent Qualifying Examination (TMAQE) and Patent Agent Qualifying Examination (PAQE). Potential candidates should review exam information on our website to validate their eligibility information and access the registration form. The deadline to register is August 11, 2023 for the TMAQE and September 15, 2023 for the PAQE.
To prepare candidates for the exams, CPATA provides resources such as Candidate Guides and sample exams and holds Candidate Orientation sessions.

You must e-mail registration-inscription@cpata-cabamc.ca no later than the exam registration deadlines if you:
- have completed the 24-month training requirement by the date the exams are written, but are not going to attempt the 2023 examinations to request a waiver
- will still be in progress with the 24-month training requirement by the date the exams are written to confirm that you are still in training
