profiles<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">, one<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">for patent agents <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">and one for <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">trademark agents. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">A <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">technical <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">competency profile is a description of the knowledge and skills <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">agents need to provide competent IP services to their clients. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW241109657 BCX0\">The establishment of clear expectations for practitioners will protect the public interest by ensuring that all new and current licensees have the skills necessary to serve their clients in a competent and ethical
