For now, the following applications for existing agents are available inside the Portal:<\/em><\/p><ul><li><em>Application to Change to Class 1<\/em><\/li><li><em>Application to Change to Class 4<\/em><\/li><li><em>Application for a <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Registrar&#8217;s certificate<\/span><\/em><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\"><em>All other applications must be completed via the PDF forms below until they are transitioned.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-25edc57 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"25edc57\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Applications for a Class 1 Licence<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e4ba2a2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e4ba2a2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Upon completion of the registration requirements, which include an approved training program, and the Qualifying Examinations, an Agent in Training (a Class 3 licensee) may apply to the Registrar to be a Patent Agent or Trademark Agent (a Class 1 Licensee).<\/p><p>The application must be submitted to the Registrar within six months after the day on which the applicant is advised of their successful completion of the qualifying examinations.<\/p><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW69224876 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW69224876 BCX0\">The fee for the Class 1 application is $2<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW69224876 BCX0\">61<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW69224876 BCX0\">\u00a0plus applicable taxes.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW69224876 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>Before the Registrar issues the class 1 licence, the applicant must pay the annual fee, pro-rated to the number of months remaining in the year following the month in which the licence is issued. Class 2 Licensees are not entitled to represent persons in the presentation and prosecution of applications for the registration of patents or trademarks, or in other business before CIPO.<\/p><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW34937047 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW34937047 BCX0\">The fee for Class 1 or 4 Licensees to apply to the Registrar to change their licence class to restricted (Class 2) is $15<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW34937047 BCX0\">7<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW34937047 BCX0\">.00 plus applicable taxes.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW34937047 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">The fee for Class 4 Licensees who have held that class of licence for greater than 3 years to apply to the Registrar to change to a Class 1 Licence is $261.00.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p>Before the Registrar issues the class 2 licence, the applicant must pay the annual fee, pro-rated to the number of months remaining in the year following the month in which the licence is issued. or<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">(g) comply with any other requirement that is imposed under the by-laws.<\/p><p>If the licensee corrects the matter that resulted in the suspension and pays the fee for reinstatement within three years from the day of the suspension, the Registrar must reinstate the person whose licence was suspended.<\/p><p>If a licensee is suspended for more than three years, they may be required to undertake additional training, education or examination requirements as specified by the Registrar, to establish eligibility for reinstatement.<\/p><p>The Registrar must revoke a licence that has been suspended for at least five (5) consecutive years by providing notice to the licensee\u2019s last known email address thirty (30) days before the day on which the revocation will take effect.<\/p><p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW159530300 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW159530300 BCX0\">The fee to apply to the Registrar for reinstatement of a suspended licence is $2<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW159530300 BCX0\">61<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW159530300 BCX0\">.00 plus applicable taxes.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW159530300 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>Before the Registrar reinstates licence, the applicant must pay the annual fee, pro-rated to the number of months remaining in the year following the month in which the licence is issued.
